MINISTER OF CULTURE CH.NOMIN WORKS IN GOBI-ALTAI PROVINCE

During the meeting with the aimag authorities, the Minister of Culture Ch.Nomin expressed his intention to expand the access to cultural services, increase the preservation, protection and promotion of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and create cultural and art products and services that reflect local characteristics.

They exchanged views with the Department of Culture and aimag authorities on the need to focus on capacity building, dissemination and protection of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, rather than investment and equipment assistance.

During the meeting, the Minister of Culture said that he would intensify large-scale archeological research and conferences in the Altai region, which is rich in history, tombs, petroglyphs, burial mounds and monuments.

By the way, in Gobi-Altai aimag, there are 37 historical and cultural monuments protected by the state with open human and deer stone statues, inscriptions, petroglyphs, graves and burial mounds.

AIMAG LIBRARY GIVEN DIRECTIONS ON ISSUES RELATED TO THE INTEGRATED ELECTRONIC REGISTRATION SYSTEM

During his visit to the Gobi-Altai aimag public library, the Minister of Culture Ch.Nomin instructed the authorities to connect the aimag library to the unified electronic registration system, digitalize the activities of the cultural sector, and so on.

The public library was established in 1944. At the time, it had a staff of one and a library of 200 books, but now it has expanded to 17 people and 43,000 libraries. The new construction of the library was completed at a budgeted cost of 956.3 MNT from the state budget and was commissioned in 2019. In addition, in 2020, the Children's Reading Room was completely renovated by the Ch. Lodoidamba Foundation.

The public library consists of a main collection, a home book distribution department, a foreign language reading room, a newspaper and magazine room, and an adult and children's reading room. The “Mobile Library” service is provided to herders living in remote baghs and settlements, as well as to some aimag center offices.

ALTAI CONFERENCE WILL FOCUS ON TRAINING, EFFICIENCY AND TRAINING OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PROFESSIONAL STAFF

The Minister of Culture Ch.Nomin got acquainted with the activities of the Ch.Lodoidamba Altai Folk Song and Dance Ensemble, which has a 54-year history and made a valuable contribution to the aesthetic education of rural people and children, and expressed his support for some projects and programs.

The "Altai" ensemble has been reviving the world-famous traditional folk art, cultural heritage and national art of the Western Altai in its repertoire, passing it on to future generations, promoting it abroad, and serving the public with spiritual and aesthetic needs.

The Altai Folk Song and Dance Ensemble has not had its own professional director, choir conductor, choreographer, music director or music director since 1985. Therefore, it was decided to provide a grant for the training of much-needed professional staff, to reimburse the cost of retraining existing artists, and to support the “National Letter and Altai Heritage” project.

KOVID 19 TO FOCUS ON MUSEUM FUNDING DUE TO PLAGUE

During his visit to Gobi-Altai aimag, the Minister of Culture Ch.Nomin met with the management of the aimag museum and got acquainted with the rare and precious treasures. He also said that the aimag museum's budget for the purchase of equipment in the 2021 budget of 180 million MNT has been approved in the state budget, but Kovid-19 is frozen due to the pandemic and will focus on resolving this issue.

The aimag museum was established in 1947 as a local study hall with two members. In 1967, it was expanded to become a local history museum by the order of the Minister of Culture of the People's Republic of Mongolia. Today, the museum has more than 1,600 exhibits in 4 halls and 10 departments: nature, geography, history, ethnography, folk art and reverence.
