A.BALDANDORJ, HERITAGE OF “MONGOLIAN EPIC” HERITAGE, AWARDED HONORARY CULTURAL FIGURE

A.Baldandorj, the 9th generation narrator of the famous Uriankhai epic Jilkher and the “Best Inheritor” of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of 2019, received the title of Honored Cultural Worker of Mongolia from the President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga.

A.Baldandorj inherited the tradition of melting poems from his father, the State Prize-winning storyteller Baatar Avirmed. Double gold medal at the Arts Festival, First People's Talent in 2002, First Prize at the Asian Student and Youth Festival in Tuva, Russia in 2003, First People's Talent in 2004, 3rd Altai Uriankhai Festival in 2007 - A pair of gold medals of the United States, “Mongolian genius who has mastered the intangible cultural heritage at a high level of skill” in 2010, “Golden Star” award from the All People's Art Festival in 2011, “Leading Cultural Worker” in 2012, “Mongolian Epic Fund” in 2012 First place in the state examination, in 2013, the “Central Asian Epic-2013” Symposium was awarded the “Golden Contract” award, the “Silver Tree” award, and the “Polar Star” medal in 2015. A.Baldandorj is one of 102 inheritors included in the “National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage” approved by the Government Resolution No. 475 of 2019 and is the “Best Inheritor of Intangible Cultural Heritage” of 2019.

Congratulations to A.Baldandorj, a great storyteller and heir, who has made a valuable contribution to the preservation and dissemination of the “Mongol Tuul” heritage, which was included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2009, to the younger generation.
