MONGOLIA AND THE ITALIAN REPUBLIC AGREE TO COOPERATE IN THE FIELDS OF EDUCATION, CULTURE, SCIENCE, SPORTS AND TOURISM

An Italy–Mongolia Business Forum was held in Rome as part of the State Visit of the President of Mongolia, Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, to the Italian Republic. During the forum, the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the Italian Republic concluded a program on cooperation in the fields of education, culture, science and sports. In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism of the Italian Republic.
The “Program between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the Italian Republic for Cooperation in the Fields of Education, Culture, Science and Sports for 2025–2028” was signed by Ms. Undram Chinbat, Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia, and Mr. Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy.

Within the framework of this program:
Cooperation in the field of education
Each year, two university lecturers or researchers will be mutually exchanged for a period of up to eight (8) days;
Direct cooperation between universities will be supported within the framework of the Erasmus Plus Programme;
The program supports opportunities for Italian students to study Mongolian and for Mongolian students to study Italian.
Cooperation in the fields of culture, arts and sports
Cooperation will be promoted in sports medicine, training and sports management;
Exchanges of coaches and athletes, joint training programs and cooperation in anti-doping activities will be supported;
High-level exchanges of exhibitions in the fields of history, cultural heritage and arts will be encouraged;
Exchanges of film professionals and actors and participation of representatives in festivals, will be supported;
Cooperation in cultural heritage research, restoration and archaeology will be further developed;
Joint efforts will be made to combat the illicit trafficking of cultural property.
Cooperation in the field of science
Business initiatives utilizing research results and joint research projects will be implemented;
Cooperation will be carried out in areas such as ecology, technologies for the protection of cultural heritage, leather processing and manufacturing technologies, wool and cashmere processing and production technologies and monitoring and prevention of natural disasters.

In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism of the Italian Republic. The Memorandum was signed by Ms. Undram Chinbat, Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia, and Ms. Daniela Santanchè, Minister of Tourism of the Italian Republic.
This Memorandum of Understanding plays an important role in expanding cooperation in the tourism sector between the two countries, supporting cooperation between business entities, creating opportunities to facilitate tourist travel routes between the two countries and deepening mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of Mongolia and Italy.
