2025-08-23 409

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia and the Asia Culture Center (ACC) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea have signed a protocol to implement the project “Developing a Digital Management System for Mongolia’s Cultural Heritage and Strengthening Cultural Content Capacity.” The protocol was signed by Minister Ms. Undram Chinbat and ACC President Mr. Kim Sang-guk.

Within the framework of this project, activities will include developing an electronic archive, digitizing cultural heritage items, creating digital exhibitions and content based on museum collections and cultural artifacts, and strengthening human resource capacity. These initiatives will be implemented through the National Center for Cultural Heritage, the National Museum of Mongolia, and the National Library of Mongolia under the Ministry.

The project is expected to not only expand digital access to cultural services for the public but also establish a digital resource management system for Mongolia’s cultural sector, thereby making a valuable contribution to the development of galleries, libraries, archives, and museums nationwide.

It is also noteworthy that, within the framework of cooperation with the Asia Culture Center, the 17th session of the Asian Storytelling Committee was successfully held in Ulaanbaatar on August 22, 2025. The Committee, established in 2009 at the initiative of the Asia Culture Center together with the Ministries of Culture of Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan), welcomed Azerbaijan and Mongolia as new members in 2022.
